Nordic Equities participates in the Business Forum in connection with the state visits of France and Finland

Nordic Equities founder, Jonas Jakobson, participated in the Business Forum during the state visits of Finnish President Alexander Stubbs and French President Emmanuel Macron to Sweden.

During the French state visit, we heard many interesting speeches and discussions. Minister for Foreign Trade Johan Forsell spoke about the extensive trade between Sweden and France. H.M King Carl XVI Gustaf reminded us of the close ties between Sweden and France. French ministers emphasised the importance of cooperation and common goals for European countries, while Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury stressed the importance of promoting growth for businesses in Europe. Finally, French President Emmanuel Macron gave a very interesting speech in which he described France’s efforts to promote entrepreneurship and to attract foreign investment. France is the country that received the most foreign investment in 2023. President Macron also underlined the importance of modernising Europe and supporting European companies to succeed in the global market.

During Finland’s visit, we also heard from several interesting speakers. Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Trade Johan Forsell spoke about the extensive trade with Finland in a number of areas. H.M King Carl XVI Gustaf also shared his thoughts on the long and shared Swedish-Finnish history, while Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasised that Sweden and Finland together will become even more interesting to the world with NATO membership. President Alexander Stubbs even suggested that the countries should jointly market themselves internationally with the slogan “Sweden and Finland, even cooler than you think.”
